w/c 18th November

On Monday this week we had an RE day and the children continued to learn about belonging. We learned about how Christians show they belong. We learned about Jesus being baptised and compared it to a Christian baptism today.

In English this week the children have been continuing our work about imaginary creatures. We focussed on using describing words and created a dangerous beast. The children had some great ideas and wrote some amazing descriptions.

In maths we have been learning about shapes. We named, found and drew pictures using the 2D (flat) shapes circle, square, triangle, rectangle and hexagon. We then learned the names of 3D (solid) shapes. We looked for examples of solid shapes around the school and sorted 3D shapes into different types. Please practise spotting and naming cubes, cones, cylinders, cuboids, pyramids and spheres at home. Here are some examples:

Today we had a fantastic trip to the Playhouse to watch the “Scarecrows Wedding”. The children were amazingly well behaved and really enjoyed the afternoon, a great treat to end the week!
